Grace and Christine Masilo (GratineTwins) are South African, Johannesburg based self-taught creative duo working at the intersection of art, storytelling, research, and emerging technology. As portrait sketch artists and multidisciplinary creatives, their work blends symbolic visual language with research-driven world-building, exploring themes of transformation, identity, memory, and digital culture.
Their practice combines artistic expression with analytical thinking, merging art, technology, and Web3 concepts through digital storytelling, symbolism, and immersive narrative design. The GratineTwins are particularly interested in how creativity can bridge cultural storytelling with the future of digital ownership and interactive experiences.
Since entering the NFT and blockchain space in 2021, their work has been showcased internationally, including showcases in Times Square in New York through NFT.NYC and ArtSpace Innovations. Their evolving creative approach has also received recognition through a nomination at the Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival, reflecting their interest in experimental storytelling and digital culture.
The GratineTwins are currently developing Kudu, an evolving symbolic storytelling universe exploring resilience, transformation, and collective narrative through digital art, immersive concepts, and experimental world-building.
